London Victoria offers a diverse nightlife with everything from fancy cocktail bars, to relaxed pubs that offer the perfect after work drinking spot. There is also a great selection of restaurants to suit every taste. Here are some of the best food and drink venues in the area:
The Bar and Lounge at the Goring
This quirky bar will make you feel like you’re on the set of Downton Abbey. A huge regal fireplace, lavish red walls, and old style furnishings set the scene for a fine evening. There is also an extensive menu, offering culinary delights such as glazed lobster omelette. Out the back is a beautiful terrace that overlooks the large manicured garden. This offers a peaceful space that feels a world away from the busy traffic around Victoria.
This trendy spot opened at the end of 2018 and is the new culinary hub of the area. It is situated in the old arcade, right next to Victoria station, and is full of some of London’s finest street food traders – from sweet treats at Soft Service Society, to fish and chips at Kerbisher & Malt. There is also a small bar, serving some great cocktails and local beers, as well as soft drinks.
This bar offers great happy hour deals from 3pm to 6pm, making it popular for after work drinks. During this time, you can get a cocktail for just £5, or a pizza and cocktail for £9! It is not just your standard margarita either – their pizzas offer some seriously experimental toppings like ras el hanout and yoghurt and confit lamb neck, which are cooked in two giant pizza ovens straight from Naples.
Clarendon Cocktail Centre
This is a popular underground cocktail bar with drinks themed around famous cult art. The secretive bar features trendy exposed brickwork, and the walls are covered with original artwork from Soho’s contemporary Lawrence Alkin Gallery. All of the inventive cocktails are named after famous works of art and are a great bargain at just £10 or less.
Hardcore Lobster and More
This popular seafood restaurant offers diners everything from sirloin steak and crab, to gourmet burgers. There is of course, plenty of fresh lobster dishes – the restaurant’s famous 1 1/2 pound fresh lobster sourced from Canada can be served either steamed or grilled and comes with great selection of tasty sides.
This is the perfect place for whenever you are craving Chinese food. The flavourful menu has been inspired by Chinese street snacks and regional dishes. There is popular Taste of China Menu available in the evenings which offers a selection of the restaurants most popular dishes. There is even the option to have a Peking Duck Feast.
This family-run wine bar has been around since the mid 19th century. There is an extensive drinks menu on offer and some limited (but tasty) food options, with sandwiches dominating the menu. There is also an attractive outdoor setting area, which is popular in the summer months and makes a great after work chill out spot.
