Liverpool Street is dominated by its railway station that serves as a major station and underground in central London. Being a vital travel hub means that there’s no shortage of great food and drink options near Liverpool Street. Here are some of our favourites:
Duck and Waffle – This popular restaurant, located at the top of the Heron Tower, is in fact the highest restaurant in the country. The modern decor includes floor to ceiling windows which showcase breath-taking views across the city. There is a delicious European and British inspired menu on offer with a focus on local, rustic, seasonal and sustainable ingredients. Dishes are designed for sampling and sharing and are complemented by an iconoclastic cocktail experience served in an intimate atmosphere that welcomes guests 24/7.
London Cocktail Club – You can enjoy expertly made cocktails at this vintage fairground themed basement bar, which is said to be haunted by Zoltar, the fortune telling robot. Faux-leather banquettes, trippy candy-cane coloured booths, ouija board tables, optical illusion artwork, distortion mirrors, and flickering lights set the spooky scene. You can even step into the Zoltar machine to see what your future holds if you’re brave enough. There’s also great happy hour deals offered between 4pm and 7pm, making this a fun after work drink spot.
Patty and Bun – Hailed as having the best burger in London, this is the perfect place for burger lovers! There are plenty of scrumptious combinations available – from the classic beef patty, to extravagant loaded options. Fast service, a vibrant atmosphere and great prices, make Patty and Bun the ideal work lunch spot.

You can enjoy delicious cocktails at 2 for £10, and beers from just £2.50 during their epic five hour long happy hour! Jose Pizarro – The post-work bite doesn’t get much better than the snacks offered at Jose Pizarro’s Spanish themed restaurant, which is part of the Broadgate Circle near Liverpool Street. The tapas menu offers Pizarro’s mouth-watering croquetas which come in a different flavour every day. There is also a spacious outdoor terrace which is the perfect place to watch the hustle and bustle of the city while enjoying the delicious small plates and drinks on offer.
The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town – This is undoubtedly one of the coolest secret bars in London and possible the UK! To find it you need to head to the Breakfast Club Café on Artillery Lane, ask for the Mayor, and step through the fridge to discover the cosy cocktail bar in the basement downstairs. As the name suggests, cats are a constant theme here, while all sorts of other quirky articles decorate the exposed brick walls.
