Hoppers – This is a new Sri Lankan restaurant designed in Soho-style. Its atmosphere is exotic, laid-back and fun, and the menu offers a range of well-cooked Sri Lankan delicacies including – egg ‘hoppers’ (crispy pancakes), black pork curry, and devilled shrimp dish. This is a perfect spot for a quick lunch as the wait is usually only 30 minutes or less.
Bao – This Taiwanese restaurant has become a local legend for its pork buns and delicious small plates. Popular options include pork confit bao, Taiwanese-style fried chicken, and beef with aged soy sauce. This is another great lunch spot as the turnaround, food, and service is consistently quick, without compromising on quality.
Cahoots – This underground themed bar will transport you back to the 1940s. From the old fashioned escalators that lead guests downstairs, to the dramatic platform bar set alongside vintage train carriages and tube seats, this unique venue provides the perfect backdrop for after-work drinks. Corazon Taqueria – This is Soho’s premier taco spot and a popular lunch place due to the lunchtime deal of two courses for just £16. It also makes a great after-work drinking spot. The place gets louder at night and the laid-back bar is the perfect place to hang out with a couple of friends, to enjoy frozen margaritas, and share a plate of the restaurants famous loaded nachos.
Adam and Eve – This huge pub in the middle of a busy Hackney high street offers a relaxing atmosphere, pretty stained glass windows, and plenty of cheap booze. The happy hour deals run most days of the week with beer, ale, and wine for just £3.50 until 8pm.
Pleasant Lady Jian Bing Trading Stall – This hole in the wall establishment on Greek Street is known for serving the best Jian bing, or Chinese crepes, in London! These hefty crepes are filled with vegetables, chilli oil, a fried egg, crispy wonton, and a choice of pork, lamb or chicken. This is an excellent grab and go lunch option and better yet – it’ll only set you back around £6 a meal!
Ugly Duckling – This fun dining spot offers a range of quirky meal options, and is famous for their popular dumpling remixes – from cheeseburger, to salmon and salsa. You can even indulge in one of their desert dumplings – try the marshmallow and nutella combo! There’s also a choice of a vegetarian, seafood, or meat platter for £11 and under – great for sharing with your work colleagues!
